Clinical Overview

Ultra‑Blend plus is a light‑activated, radiopaque cavity liner containing calcium hydroxide and calcium hydroxyapatite in a urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA) matrix. It delivers sustained bioactivity via calcium release, supports pulp capping and cavity lining, and remains dimensionally stable—no dissolution over time—while requiring no mixing.

Working & Setting

• Application: Place liner directly onto dry dentin; no mixing required.
• Light cure: Activate with blue light (≥450 mW/cm²) until material cures completely (typically 20–40 sec depending on thickness).
• Note: Minimizing coverage area preserves available dentin for bonding when composite restoration is placed.

Indications

• Direct pulp capping (small, non-hyperemic exposures)
• Indirect pulp capping over near-pulp dentin
• Cavity lining in deep preparations prior to composite or amalgam restoration
• Protective base under restorative material where pulp is at risk

Instructions for Use

1. Clean and isolate the tooth thoroughly; ensure the dentin surface is dry.
2. If pulp exposure is present, disinfect area with Consepsis™ antibacterial solution for 60 seconds; air dry. Larger exposures may require MTAFlow™ or endodontic treatment.
3. Insert application tip and place liner directly onto the dentin exposure or cavity floor; use minimal coverage to preserve bonding surface.
4. Light-cure the liner thoroughly using a standard curing light. Ensure full polymerization.
5. Proceed with phosphoric acid etching (Ultra‑Etch 35 %) for 15 seconds, rinse and lightly dry dentin.
6. Optionally apply bonding agent (e.g., Peak™ Universal Bond) scrubbed into dentin, air-thinned, and light-cured per manufacturer’s instructions. Then restore with composite.
