Astringedent X, Hemostatic, 12.7% Iron Solution

Clinical Overview

Astringedent™ X is an aqueous 12.7% iron solution containing equivalent ferric sulfate and ferric subsulfate, formulated for rapid control of difficult-to-stop capillary bleeding. As Ultradent’s most powerful hemostatic agent, it is ideal in clinical situations where profound hemostasis is required. It is less acidic than competing iron subsulfate products and is gluten- and kosher-certified.

Kit Contents

• 1 × 30 mL bottle (or 30 mL IndiSpense syringe) of Astringedent™ X solution (Ref. 112)
• (Delivery tip must be purchased separately—use Metal or Blue Mini™ Dento‑Infusor tip recommended)

Application Protocol

1. Ensure area is dry; attach Dento‑Infusor tip to bottle or syringe.
2. Scrub solution firmly into cut tissue or sulcular area until bleeding ceases.
3. Rinse thoroughly with firm air/water spray to remove coagulum and test for stable hemostasis. If bleeding persists, repeat scrubbing.
4. Once bleeding is controlled, proceed with retraction cord placement, impression, bonding, or restorative procedure.

• Management of bleeding in crown preparation, subgingival margin access, and impression protocols
• Endodontic and periodontal hemostasis during restorative or surgical procedures
• Use in cases of gingival inflammation or fragile vasculature where other hemostatics fail

Instructions for Use

1. Select the Metal or Blue Mini™ Dento‑Infusor tip and attach securely.
2. Burnish the tip against the bleeding tissue in the sulcus until bleeding stops.
3. Apply air/water spray firmly to rinse residual coagulum and assess hemostasis.
4. If some bleeding remains, repeat scrub-in protocol until stable control is achieved.
5. Once tissue is dry and non‑bleeding, place retraction cord or proceed with impression/adhesive workflow.
6. Discard single-use tip after application to prevent contamination.
