Astringedent™ is a classic aqueous hemostatic agent containing 15.5% ferric sulfate (pH ~1.0). It provides rapid, profound capillary hemostasis within seconds, and its fluid consistency makes it ideal for soaking retraction cords and controlling sulcular fluids—ensuring a clean field and reliable bonding.

Kit Contents

• 1 × 30 mL bottle or 30 mL IndiSpense® syringe of 15.5% ferric sulfate solution (Ref. 111)
• (Delivery tip sold separately; use Metal or Blue Mini™ Dento‑Infusor™ tip recommended)

Application Protocol

1. Ensure the tissue is dry and attach a Dento‑Infusor™ tip.
2. Scrub the solution firmly into the bleeding sulcus or cut tissue until bleeding ceases.
3. Rinse vigorously with air/water spray to remove all coagulum and verify hemostasis. Repeat if necessary.
4. Upon stable control, proceed with cord placement, impression, bonding, or restorative procedures.

Indications

• Control of capillary bleeding in crown and bridge preparations, subgingival margins, and impressions
• Management of sulcular fluid contamination during direct bonding procedures
• Pulpotomy fixative agent and use in periodontal or oral surgery contexts (e.g. gingivectomy, tooth impactions, retrofillings).

Instructions for Use

1. Attach Metal or Blue Mini™ Dento‑Infusor™ tip to bottle or syringe.
2. Burnish the tip into the bleeding tissue around the sulcus until bleeding stops.
3. Rinse thoroughly with air/water spray to clear coagulum and confirm hemostasis.
4. If bleeding persists, repeat scrub-in steps until bleeding is controlled.
5. Proceed with retraction cord placement, impression taking, bonding, or restoration once the field is dry and stable.
6. Dispose of single-use tips after application per infection control protocols.
