Clinical Overview

Opallis Flow A2 is a radiopaque, light-curing micro-hybrid flowable composite in a 2 g syringe under shade A2. With 72 wt% inorganic fillers and low viscosity, it offers excellent flow and adaptation to cavity walls, making it ideal for use as a base layer or minimally invasive restorative material.

Key Benefits

  • High filler content: 72 wt% fillers provide strong mechanical resistance and reduced shrinkage.
  • Superior adaptation: Flows into rough or intricate preparation walls, minimizing microleakage risk.
  • Easy handling: Low viscosity material delivers precise placement and base-liner application without slumping.
  • Versatile layering: Compatible with conventional Opallis or most composite systems for layering and sculpting.

Kit Contents

  • 1 × 2 g syringe of Opallis Flow A2 composite shade A2
  • 5 × applicator tips for precise placement

Working & Setting Times

  • Handling: Flows easily under pressure, stabilizes without slumping once placement stops.
  • Light curing: Apply in ≤ 2 mm increments; cure each layer for ~40 seconds using ≥450 mW/cm² LED curing light.

Indications

  • Base or liner in minimally invasive Class I restorations with low occlusal load
  • Pit-and-fissure sealants and tunnel preparation restoration
  • Repair of enamel defects and non-carious cervical lesions
  • Bonding of tooth fragments and localized composite repairs
  • Smoothing or flattening of cavity walls prior to layering process

Instructions for Use

  1. Perform prophylaxis and shade selection while tooth surface is hydrated.
  2. Isolate field with rubber dam; prepare cavity and apply adhesive system per protocol.
  3. Dispense Opallis Flow A2 using applicator tip; flow into prepared cavity or base area.
  4. Layer ≤ 2 mm material and light-cure each increment for approximately 40 seconds with a suitable LED curing light.
  5. After layering, verify occlusal contact and finish restoration using fine finishing instruments (e.g. Diamond Pro disks) and polishing pastes (e.g. Diamond Flex or Diamond Excel).

Summary

The Opallis Flow Composite A2 syringe is a clinician-friendly flowable micro-hybrid resin combining high filler load, excellent cavity adaptation, and easy handling. Ideal as a base or repair material in minimally invasive restorative workflows, it integrates well with conventional composites and supports strong adhesion and finishing.

Manufacturer: FGM Dental Group. Regulatory: CE-certified and registered for professional dental use. Shelf life: check batch label; typically up to 4 years. Contraindications: Not intended for high-load occlusal restorations; use as base or liner in low-stress areas only.
