Indications for Use
Edge K-Fileā¢, NiTi K-Fileā¢, Edge C-Fileā¢, and Edge H-File⢠are designed for creating the initial GlidePath prior to using EdgeEndoĀ® NiTi rotary or reciprocating files. These instruments are intended for dentist use only.
Contraindications
None known.
Warnings
- Use of a rubber dam system is strongly recommended.
- All files are intended for single use only to avoid file separation.
Precautions
- Use caution in canals that merge, divide, or curve.
- Wear appropriate protective equipment: gloves, glasses, mask, etc.
- Use lubricants such as Edgelube⢠and EdgeGel⢠with all hand instruments.
- Begin with a #10 hand file to establish the working length and GlidePath.
- Clean flutes frequently and inspect for distortion or wear.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Form straight-line access to the canal orifice.
- Use a #10 Edge K-Fileā¢, NiTi K-Fileā¢, Edge C-Fileā¢, or H-File⢠to establish the working length with an apex locator and/or radiograph.
- Confirm canal patency with the same #10 file.
- Irrigate frequently using Edgelubeā¢, 17% Liquid EDTA.

If the #10 file does not reach the working length, step down:
- Use a #6 file to working length
- Then proceed to a #8 file
- Then return to a #10 file

Once the #10 file reaches working length and patency is confirmed, proceed with one of the following options:
- Option 1: Complete the GlidePath using EdgeGlidePath⢠or EdgeFindā¢
- Option 2: Begin shaping the canal using EdgeEndoĀ® rotary or reciprocating files
- Option 3: Continue shaping with #15 and larger Edge K-Filesā¢, NiTi K-Filesā¢, Edge C-Filesā¢, or H-Filesā¢
Storage
Store at a room temperature between 50ā and 100ā, away from direct sunlight.
