Directions for Use

Composition

• Edge K-File™: Made of Stainless Steel
• NiTi K-File™: Made of Nickel Titanium
• Edge C-File™ & Edge H-File™: Made of Stainless Steel

Indications for Use

Edge K-File™, NiTi K-File™, Edge C-File™, and Edge H-File™ are designed for creating the initial GlidePath prior to using EdgeEndo® NiTi rotary or reciprocating files. These instruments are intended for dentist use only.

Contraindications

None known.

Warnings

• Use of a rubber dam system is strongly recommended.
• All files are intended for single use only to avoid file separation.

Precautions

• Use caution in canals that merge, divide, or curve.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment: gloves, glasses, mask, etc.
• Use lubricants such as Edgelube™ and EdgeGel™ with all hand instruments.
• Begin with a #10 hand file to establish the working length and GlidePath.
• Clean flutes frequently and inspect for distortion or wear.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Form straight-line access to the canal orifice.
2. Use a #10 Edge K-File™, NiTi K-File™, Edge C-File™, or H-File™ to establish the working length with an apex locator and/or radiograph.
3. Confirm canal patency with the same #10 file.
4. Irrigate frequently using Edgelube™, 17% Liquid EDTA.
5. If the #10 file does not reach the working length, step down:
   • Use a #6 file to working length
   • Then proceed to a #8 file
   • Then return to a #10 file
   Repeat irrigation between each file.
6. Once the #10 file reaches working length and patency is confirmed, proceed with one of the following options:
   • Option 1: Complete the GlidePath using EdgeGlidePath™ or EdgeFind™
   • Option 2: Begin shaping the canal using EdgeEndo® rotary or reciprocating files
   • Option 3: Continue shaping with #15 and larger Edge K-Files™, NiTi K-Files™, Edge C-Files™, or H-Files™

Storage

Store at a room temperature between 50℃ and 100℃, away from direct sunlight.
