Tango-Endo Handpiece with iPex II Apex Locator

Clinical Overview
The Tango‑Endo™ system integrates a robust reciprocating handpiece with a precision NSK iPex II apex locator. Designed for efficient, safe endodontic shaping using just two reusable files, it enables predictable treatment in curved canals. The iPex II delivers accurate working length detection using SmartLogic dual-frequency technology—even in wet canals—streamlining the canal preparation workflow.
Key Benefits
- Efficient two-file system: patented reciprocating design uses only one shaping and one finishing file for full canal preparation.
- Reduces file separation risk: flat-sided file geometry prevents binding and stress in curved canals.
- Reusable instruments: durable design can be safely autoclaved and reused up to three times.
- Versatile integration: compatible with standard E-type air or electric endo motors—no need for specialized equipment.
- Compact apex locator: NSK iPex II’s SmartLogic system provides precise apex detection, tri-color LCD, and audio alerts for accurate working length guidance.
- Long battery life: iPex II runs approximately 60 hours on AAA batteries—ideal for continuous use.
Kit Contents
- 1 × Tango‑Endo reciprocating handpiece (4:1 latch-type)
- 6 × Tango‑Endo files: 3 shaping (30/02), 3 finishing (30/04)
- 60 × matching gutta-percha points
- NSK iPex II apex locator: control unit, probe, file clips (×3), lip hooks (×3), batteries, tester
Operational Parameters
- Reciprocation: balanced 45° motion minimizes cyclic fatigue and torsional stress.
- Apex locator accuracy: visually guided LCD bar graph, tri-color display, and audio cues identify apical limit.
- Battery life: approx. 60 h continuous operation per set of AAA batteries.
Indications
- Reciprocating canal preparation with shaping and finishing files
- Complex or curved canal negotiation with minimal risk
- Accurate working length determination in wet/dry canals
- Endodontic retreatment and post‑operative shaping
Instructions for Use
- Insert Tango‑Endo file into reciprocating handpiece attached to endo motor.
- Prepare glide path manually, then use shaping file to full working length, followed by finishing file.
- Connect iPex II probes, clip file, and place lip hook; power on apex locator.
- Advance file while monitoring LCD and audio until display shows apex (0.0 or red “APEX”).
- Complete final shaping and irrigate; verify working length with apex locator throughout.
- Autoclave files after use (up to three cycles), replace gutta points as needed.
Summary
The Tango‑Endo + iPex II kit offers a modern, efficient endodontic solution combining safe reciprocating instrumentation with SmartLogic apex detection—ensuring predictable canal access, flexible integration, and reliable results in root canal therapy.
