Consepsis, 2% Chlorhexidine Antibacterial Solution, Econo Refill, PK/20

Clinical Overview
Consepsis™ is a 2 % chlorhexidine gluconate antibacterial solution formulated without emollients to avoid interference with bond strength. It is designed for both endodontic disinfection and restorative field preparation, delivering sustained antimicrobial action and protection against postoperative sensitivity.
Key Benefits
- Broad-spectrum, substantive antimicrobial: Chlorhexidine binds to dentin hydroxyapatite and inhibits MMP enzymes that degrade the hybrid layer over time—helping to maintain bond strength and reduce recurrent caries.
- Bonding-friendly: Free of surfactants or emollients, ensuring optimal adhesion for direct composites, luting agents, and sealants.
- Dual-purpose disinfectant: Suitable as a final canal rinse before obturation and final rinse before pulp capping. Also ideal for cavity disinfection, rinse after acid etch or before adhesive application.
- Convenient delivery format: Each 1.2 mL syringe is single-use and ready, reducing cross-contamination risk. Compatible with Blue Mini Dento‑Infusor™ or Black Mini Brush tips.
- Certified gluten‑free: Suitable for patients with dietary or lifestyle sensitivities.
Kit Contents
- 20 × 1.2 mL prefilled Consepsis™ syringes (2 % chlorhexidine gluconate)
- (Delivery tips—Blue Mini Dento‑Infusor™ or Black Mini Brush—sold separately)
Handling & Protocol Guidance
- Ready-to-use syringes: Prefilled, no mixing required—just attach appropriate tip and dispense.
- Applicator tip options: Use Blue Mini Dento‑Infusor™ tip for precise scrub delivery or Black Mini Brush tip for broader surface cleansing.
- Substantivity: Chlorhexidine remains bound in dentin, offering sustained antibacterial action and helping preserve bond integrity long-term.
Indications
- Endodontic canal disinfection during shaping or as interappointment medicament
- Final rinse prior to obturation or pulp capping
- Cavity preparation field disinfection before etching or adhesive placement
- Surface wetting agent to reduce postoperative sensitivity and support bond strength maintenance.
Instructions for Use
- Select and attach appropriate delivery tip (Blue Mini Dento‑Infusor™ for scrub delivery, or Black Mini Brush tip for surface application).
- Express Consepsis™ solution into canal or onto prepared tooth surface.
- Rub solution thoroughly to disinfect tissue or dentin surface; avoid excessive pooling.
- For endodontic application: rinse canal thoroughly, dry, then proceed with obturation. Do not combine with sodium hypochlorite or EDTA to avoid precipitate formation.
- For restorative application: apply, allow contact briefly, then air-dry gently—do not rinse—and continue to bonding protocol on moist dentin.
