Clinical Overview

Translucent, non‑stick templates ensure predictable shape, symmetry and a high‑gloss finish by preventing oxygen‑inhibition during composite curing. Technique Overview

1. Select appropriate template sized for tooth number and arch.
2. Minimally prepare tooth; apply etchant (e.g. Ultra‑Etch™ or Peak™ SE Primer), rinse or not per protocol.
3. Apply bonding agent (e.g. Peak™ Universal Bond), light‑cure per instructions.
4. Place composite on tooth; do not light‑cure.
5. Align template centered over tooth, press firmly to eliminate air and shape composite.
6. Cure composite through template (e.g. 1–2 × 10 s per 2 mm layer on VALO light).
7. Remove template gently; perform final curing directly on composite for full polymerization.
8. Edit margins minimally with fine bur or polishing disks; templates often eliminate need for extensive finishing.
9. Clean template with alcohol pad, dry and autoclave before next use.
