Opalescence PF Take-Home Whitening

Clinical Overview

Opalescence™ PF 15% Mint features 15 % carbamide peroxide in a high‑water (≈20 %) gel base with PF technology (potassium nitrate + fluoride) to deliver professional-grade take‑home whitening. The viscous, sticky gel adheres securely within custom trays to ensure even whitening while minimizing soft tissue contact.([turn0search0][turn0search3][turn0search4])

Key Benefits

• Moderate bleaching strength: 15 % carbamide peroxide designed for mild-to-moderate stains with lower risk of sensitivity.([turn0search11][turn0search17])

• PF formula: Potassium nitrate and fluoride support enamel strength and reduce sensitivity.([turn0search0][turn0search3][turn0search4])

• High water content (~20 %): Prevents tooth dehydration and reduces shade relapse post-treatment.([turn0search0][turn0search2])

• Sticky, viscous gel: Maintains position in trays; reduces migration to soft tissues.([turn0search3][turn0search2])

• Flexible wear time: Recommended wear of 4–6 hours daily; customizable to patient sensitivity.([turn0search10][turn0search6])

• Complete patient kit: Tray case, whitening toothpaste, and shade guide support compliance and clinical oversight.([turn0search3][turn0search18])

Kit Contents

• 8 × 1.2 mL syringes of 15 % carbamide peroxide Opalescence PF Mint gel

• 1 × 28.3 g tube of Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste

• 1 × custom‑tray storage case

• 1 × shade guide

Usage Guidelines

• Express a continuous bead of gel (approx. ½ syringe) from molar to molar on the facial side of the tray. Remove excess from edges.([turn0search10][turn0search4])

• Insert tray and seat gently—avoid firm pressure that might push gel onto gingiva.([turn0search11][turn0search10])

• Wear trays for 4–6 hours as tolerated; ideally once daily until desired whitening is achieved.([turn0search10][turn0search6])

• After wear, remove trays and gently brush teeth; rinse tray clean with water and store in case. No immediate rinse needed post-tray to retain fluoride.([turn0search4][turn0search10])

Indications

• At‑home whitening for mild to moderate staining (e.g. from coffee, tea, tobacco, aging)

• Maintenance or follow‑up after in‑office whitening

• Pre-restorative whitening to aid shade matching for veneers or composites

• Suitable for patients with moderate sensitivity preferring shorter daily use

Instructions for Use

1. Confirm tray fit and patient suitability before initiating treatment.

2. Dispense a molar‑to‑molar bead (~½ syringe) into each tray. Clean excess from tray borders.([turn0search10][turn0search4])

3. Seat tray gently; ensure no gel touches soft tissue. Remove bubbles and pressure‑fit as needed.([turn0search11][turn0search10])

4. Advise wear for 4–6 hours daily, preferably overnight if tolerated. Limit contact time if sensitivity arises.([turn0search10][turn0search6])

5. After removal, brush teeth and rinse mouth; clean tray via soft brush and water, then dry and store in provided case.([turn0search4][turn0search2])

6. Monitor shade progression and sensitivity; adjust duration or pause usage as needed.
