Endodontic Micro-Explorers The dental explorer or sickle probe is used with its sharp point to enhance tactile sensation and to determine the presence of tooth decay on tooth enamel. Thanks to its long and pointed tip, can be deeply inserted into the endodontic canal. It gives a better visibility when working with the microscope. The main application is the identification of access into root canals and to establish the position and the blocking force of broken endodontic instruments (as well as of silver pins) in root canals.
